Why does OMS offer ceremonies at awe-inspiring locations in nature? For many reasons… one being the data found in this scientific research:

The research compared ego-dissolution scales with a survey that quantified awe-experience. And it turned out ego dissolution did not correlate with increased feelings of connectedness and empathy, and reduced symptoms of narcissism. Instead, it was feelings of awe that seemed to be fundamental in reducing levels of narcissism.

And it wasn’t all kinds of awe either. Most specifically, the research found psychedelic experiences that generated feelings of awe leading to a sense of connectedness with nature and humanity were most associated with positive reductions in narcissism.

The modern world has created an “every-man-for-himself” mentality. It has killed the tribal, community mentality of lifting up our brothers and sisters. Instead people look down on those who can’t conform to the unnatural demands of modern living, but would thrive in the old ways. Currently there are discussions to build a hydrogen pipeline spanning over 200 miles on the Navajo Nation. However, there are no discussions on how to provide a water pipeline to the Navajo Nation, or reverse osmosis water systems and replacement filters for every home in the Navajo Nation. To OMS, this represents a level of mass-narcissism. America became a super-power, partly, at the expense of poisoning the water of the Navajo Nation. It is only appropriate to not simply address this issue, but to solve it, immediately with real solutions, no matter the cost. If America can send $50 billion to Ukraine, it can send however much is needed to fix the uranium-water crisis on the Navajo Nation.
